I've blinked, and May has disappeared.
It's true what they day - the days are long, but the years are short. Does it seem like the year is flying by to you as well? I can't believe we're nearly in June; nearly half the year has passed in the blink of an eye!
Anyhoo - here's what we've been up to in May.
New Brighton Beach
We spent a lovely Bank Holiday Monday on New Brighton beach with my grandparents. It was a little overcast and breezy but that didn't stop our wild child from paddling in the freezing waves (grandma joined in!) - though she warmed up with a badminton tournament against granddad!
All the fun of the fair
Every May Bank Holiday, Pat Collins Funfair returns the the Little Roodee in Chester - we were really lucky with the weather this weekend so Oli and I went along to enjoy the rides and game - and my grandparents joined in too! Granddad particularly loved the bumper cars and grandma braved the ghost train - leaving me with the rides that spun, bounced, or swung! It was so much fun.
Setting off to Speke
Naturally we spent a day out at a National Trust property - this time returning to Speke Hall. Oli used to be obsessed with this place because of the uncovered secret passageway, believed to be a priest hole - she loves it now for the huge play areas and 'child of Hale' route through the woodlands. We sheltered from the heat in the huge gardens with a picnic and ice-cream, and explored the cool house interiors (cool for the history, but also because it provided shelter from the heatwave!)
