A Pocket-Sized Practice for Intentional Living

There are days when joy feels like a distant dream - a nice-to-have but not-for-me. Days when the to-do list is louder than your heartbeat and longer than your leg. When even the things you love feel like just one more thing to manage.

That’s exactly why the Joy Cards were born.

A painterly, poetic oracle-style deck designed not to predict your future - but to gently reconnect you to your present.

What are the Joy Cards?

The Joy Cards are a 44-card illustrated deck rooted in the coaching tools, creative rituals, and lived experiences behind The Intentional Joy Project.

They’re not about telling you what to do; they’re about reminding you of what you already know.

Each card offers:

  • A unique hand-crafted digital visual evoking the message of the card, and inspired by the diversity, magic, and joy to be found in the world.

  • A name or concept designed to spark reflection

  • An accompanying description with:

    • A poetic message

    • A simple joy ritual

    • A journal prompt or affirmation

Whether you’re pulling a card in the morning to set the tone for the day, or reaching for one when everything feels a bit too much - these cards are your permission slip to slow down, soften, and begin again.

How to Use the Joy Cards

There’s no right or wrong way - only the way that feels right for you.

Here’s a simple practice to begin with:

  1. Pause. Place your hand on your heart. Breathe deeply.

  2. Set an intention. You might ask: “What do I need to hear today?” or “Where can I root my energy?”

  3. Draw a card.

  4. Reflect. Read the message slowly. Let it sink in. Journal, move, meditate, or simply sit with it.

You could pull a card:

  • Each morning as part of a grounding ritual

  • Weekly, to set a soulful tone for the days ahead

  • During emotional wobbles

  • With children or loved ones, to open meaningful conversation

  • At the end of the day, to reflect on what the heart learned

Why I Created This Deck

I didn’t set out to make an oracle deck. But as The Intentional Joy Project began to take shape, I kept returning to the same feeling: that we need small, beautiful anchors to pull us back to ourselves; back to joy - to remind ourselves that joy is a practice.

So I poured all my art and ideas, my coaching practice, my motherhood, my burnout, my healing, my Sunday morning journaling sessions and my Thursday-night meltdowns into these cards.

They’re messy and magical. Like life.
