I've been pretty quiet for a while - lots of reasons, and if you follow us on Instagram, you'll know a few of them. However, never ones to let a little setback... set us back, we decided to escape for a winter weekend in London.

And would you believe this is just outside the city? Lee Valley is a twenty-six mile park that stretches across parts of London, Essex, and Hertfordshire, that has award winning green spaces, loads of activities, and a couple of options for camping!

We stayed on the Edmonton site, which has great, easy options to travel into central London. It was a bit disorientating driving into a leisure park, behind an Odeon cinema, and down a dark path, but the site opened up behind the industrial setting and we really did feel like we were in the middle of the countryside.

Our Cabin accommodation was much bigger than it looked, and was super cosy (the heating was on when we arrived so toasty warm!) Oli loved that we had a bunk bed, and the cabin was equipped with a fridge, microwave, hot plate, crockery and cutlery, and a TV, as well as safety equipment and spare beds.

The only downside was that the toilets were across the field so it was a bit of an adventure in the dark, but Oli loved hopping across the puddles using her torch to find the way!
